HEALTH SCIENCES CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR - SPINE FELLOWSHIP

HEALTH SCIENCES ASSISTANT CLINICAL PROFESSOR
GENERAL ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking two energetic and creative academic board eligible/certified Health Sciences Clinical Instructor for fellowship training in Spine Surgery. This position would have a 100% appointment at the Clinical Instructor rank in the non-Senate, non-tenure track Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. The successful candidates must hold an MD or MD/Ph.D. degree(s) and be eligible for California Medical Licensure and have a desire to develop expertise and specialty training experience that includes spine deformity, trauma, degenerative diseases and reconstruction. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidates will be expected to teach medical students and residents, cover various orthopaedic problems, perform university and public service, and demonstrate professional and clinical competence. We deliver clinical services at the UCI Medical Center in Orange and The Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center in Costa Mesa. The successful candidates should have strong interest in research, teaching and patient care.

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, Irvine is seeking energetic and creative board-certified or board-eligible orthopaedic faculty member(s). This will be an academic senate position in the Clinical X series (Assistant, Associate, and/or Full Professor Levels) Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate must hold an MD or MD/Ph.D. degree(s) and be eligible for California Medical Licensure and specialization in orthopaedic surgery specialty are required. Applicants should have specialty training experience in one of the following areas: hand surgery, trauma, degenerative diseases, reconstruction, joint and hip reconstruction, spine, foot and ankle, and orthopaedic oncology. The successful
candidate(s) would be expected to take part in teaching orthopedic surgery residents and medical students as well as develop a dedicated research program in his/her chosen research area. The appropriate applicant must be able to cover trauma call and other related orthopaedic problems. Applicants must have strong experience in teaching, patient care, research, and have peer reviewed publications.

The Clinical X series is designed for clinical scholars with major clinical responsibilities who are outstanding teachers and whose creative activities are often more broadly aimed at the improvement of clinical practice, health delivery, and/or medical education. Individuals in the Clinical X Series should publish the results of their scholarly activities and present them at meetings.

The successful candidate must hold a M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree(s) and be eligible for California Licensure. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the teaching of orthopaedic residents and medical students, demonstrate professional competency and activity and perform University and public service. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to cover trauma call related the lower extremities.
